Honor of Kings Ping Test

Measure your real latency to Honor of Kings servers — then find out if it was lag, or you.

Measuring…

Region auto-picked from your location — tap another region to compare.

How this works: game servers don't answer web pings, so this times your browser's round trip to the game's regional entry point in the same city — the same network distance your game traffic covers. Warm-up first, then 4 samples, median shown.

What ping is normal for — Honor of Kings

RatingPingHow it feels
Excellent0–40 msGreen-bar smooth. Skill combos chain exactly as your fingers ordered.
Playable40–80 msNormal for home Wi-Fi and good 5G. Ranked is fully on.
Noticeable80–150 msSkillshots drift, dashes arrive late. Teamfights get dangerous.
Unplayable150+ msApproaching the legendary 460. Your hero is acting on its own.

Honor of Kings is built for mobile networks, so it buffers and predicts aggressively — which is why a "green" HoK ping can hide ugly jitter that would be unplayable on PC. The number that matters on mobile is stability: 5G and Wi-Fi in the same room can deliver the same average ping with wildly different spikes. And the game's ceiling display, 460 ms, has become Chinese gaming slang for "my connection just died".

Lagging? Work through this list

  1. Use the in-game network diagnosis — Before ranked: Settings → Network Diagnosis runs HoK's own line check. If it complains, believe it — switch networks before the match, not during.
  2. Play on 5 GHz Wi-Fi or 5G, close to the router — Mobile ping is mostly physics: walls and distance. One room away can be the difference between 30 ms and 90 ms spikes.
  3. Turn on your phone's game mode — Most Android skins and iPhones route game traffic better with game mode or focus mode on, and it silences the background sync storm.
  4. Mind the heat — A phone that's hot from charging throttles its modem and CPU together. Play ranked on a cool phone.
  5. Close background apps and auto-updates — App stores love updating during your promo series. Turn off auto-update on game nights.
  6. Restart the router, not just the game — If every match is yellow-barred tonight, the router's five-day uptime is the prime suspect.

Frequently asked questions

What ping is normal for Honor of Kings?

On good Wi-Fi or 5G, 20–60 ms is normal and shows green in game. Under 80 ms is fully playable; once you're living at 100+ ms, dashes and skillshots start arriving on a delay.

Why does everyone joke about 460?

460 ms is the maximum the HoK client displays — when your connection truly stalls, the counter pegs at 460, so "I 460'd" became shorthand for "lag killed me" across Chinese gaming.

Why is my in-game ping different from this test?

This test measures your browser to the game's regional entry; the in-game number includes Tencent's match routing and the client's own prediction smoothing. Judge by stability: a flat 60 beats a jumpy 30 every time.

How do I check my connection inside HoK?

Settings → Network Diagnosis gives a one-tap health check, and your live ping sits in the corner of the match screen — green, yellow, or red, with the exact ms.

Is mobile data or Wi-Fi better for HoK?

Whichever is steadier. Strong 5G often beats a crowded home Wi-Fi; weak 5G through two walls loses to a quiet router next to you. Run this test on both — ten seconds, decided.
