PUBG Ping Test
Measure your ping to the PUBG regional entry point — then find out if it was lag, or you.
Region auto-picked from your location — tap another region to compare.
How this works: game servers don't answer web pings, so this times your browser's round trip to the game's regional entry point in the same city. Treat it as a rough reference only — real matches follow the publisher's own routing to a specific match server, so the in-game number usually differs. Calibration from side-by-side tests: for the same region, numbers here typically run about 30-80 ms above the ping shown in game, and on some entry points the gap can approach 100 ms. Trust the ranking between regions, not the absolute number. Warm-up first, then 6 samples, median shown.
What ping is normal for — PUBG
| Rating | Ping | How it feels |
|---|---|---|
| Chicken Ready | 0–35 ms | Spray transfers are clean, peeks feel instant, vehicles drive straight. |
| Erangel Normal | 35–70 ms | Standard lobbies — fine fights, occasional desync peek that makes you paranoid. |
| Behind the Wall | 70–120 ms | Enemies jiggle, cars teleport, and you die two seconds after reaching cover. |
| Blame the Lag | 120+ ms | You are a loot delivery service with extra steps — get the certificate. |
PUBG runs on KRAFTON dedicated servers, and the PC version was upgraded to 60 Hz tick servers in a developer update — a big deal for a 100-player battle royale where every bullet and vehicle is simulated server-side. With that many players, tick stability under load matters as much as your raw ping number.
Lagging? Work through this list
- Pick your server manually in the lobby — Do not trust Auto — lock the closest region before you queue, or the game will find you a laggy adventure.
- Ethernet, full stop — An ethernet cable is the biggest upgrade that is not a new monitor — 100-player lobbies punish WiFi jitter hardest.
- Enable the network debug overlay — Settings, Gameplay, Network Debug Info: watch real ping and packet loss in-match instead of guessing.
- Queue with same-region squads — One teammate dragging the lobby to a far server lags all four of you — squad up close to home.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good ping for PUBG?
Under 70 ms plays well; under 35 ms is ideal for close-quarters sprays. Above 120 ms cover stops protecting you.
Why is my ping different from what the game shows?
This test measures the round trip from your browser to our regional entry point, not to the game servers themselves. Treat it as a rough reference — in practice it usually reads about 30–80 ms higher than your in-game ping. Compare regions by rank, not by the absolute number.
Why do I die behind cover?
On high ping the server still saw you exposed when the enemy fired — your client just had not caught up yet.
Does ping matter more than FPS in PUBG?
Low FPS makes aiming hard; high ping makes the game lie to you. Both hurt, but only one gets you a certificate here.
